Poverty was rife and people suffered from Malnutrition and diseases. Anti-Japanese groups were formed as the people resented the Japanese rule.

The Malayan People's Anti-Japanese Army (MPAJA) were set up by the Malayan Communists Party(MCP) to fight against the Japanese in the Malayan Jungle.Members of the MPAJA would carry out sudden attacks on the Japanese Military whenever they had the chance.

I was in the anti-Japanese group called Force 136 set-up by the British aimed to help the British recapture Malaya and Singapore from the Japanese.Lim Bo Seng was the leader of Force 136 but he was arrested in 1944 for his anti-Japanese activities.
